Fund-raising Concert for Cyclone Giri Victims

A fund-raising concert for the victims of Cyclone Giri in Arakan State will be held at Rangoon's Thuwanna Stadium on Dec 30 by well-known Burmese performers, including Aung Lwin, Khant Sithu and Nay Toe. Cyclone Giri devastated Burma's Arakan coast on Oct. 22, destroying—according to the Rangoon-based UN humanitarian coordinator—up to 80 percent of houses in the region and severely damaging public buildings such as schools and clinics.
